MILD HYBRID POWERTRAINS

The XC40 offers two mild hybrid options, both combining a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with efficient hybrid technology. The B3 features front-wheel drive and a 7-speed Dual Clutch automatic gearbox for smooth, fuel-efficient performance, while the B4 pairs the same engine with an 8-speed Geartronic automatic for dynamic power and responsive acceleration. Both use mild hybrid systems to recover energy during braking and provide clean, efficient starts.

FUEL EFFICIENCY

The XC40 mild hybrid features a 54-litre fuel tank and uses mild hybrid technology to recover energy from braking and assist the petrol engine, enhancing fuel efficiency. Both the B3 and B4 mild hybrid powertrains achieve a combined fuel consumption of 42.8 miles per 100 litres (WLTP).
