Kia launches KiaCharge - One account, 13,900 charging points

Kia Motors (UK) Limited has launched KiaCharge, a UK-wide public charging service, designed to give drivers easier access to chargepoints.

From launch, KiaCharge provides more comprehensive access to the UK public charging network than any equivalent service.

KiaCharge gives owners of the brand’s BEVs (battery electric vehicle) and PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) access to more than 13,900 charge points across the UK – around 68 per cent of the public charging network* – from a single account.

This includes access to several major UK charging networks including bp pulse, Pod Point, IONITY, Source London, Chargepoint, NewMotion, Char-gy, and ESB with more available and planned to be added.

KiaCharge also enables zero-emission continental travel eRoaming, providing access to more than 178,000 additional charging points across 28 other European countries.

Chargepoints included in the service can be operated using the KiaCharge smartphone app or a radio-frequency identification (RFID) card, with payments made via a single itemised monthly invoice rather than individual bills for each charging session.

The service offers a choice of two fully flexible tariffs for all customers, ‘Easy’ and ‘Plus’ that have been tailored to fit individual charging preferences. In addition, KiaCharge users can add a new or existing bp pulse bolt-on subscription to their KiaCharge account, which provides users with a discount of up to 40 per cent when charging within the bp pulse network of nearly 7,000 chargers, compared to the ‘instant’ charging rate.
KiaCharge can also be used for route planning that includes charging stations as well as providing real-time information about individual charging points including pricing, availability, and technical information (such as the type of plug available). Planned routes can then be followed using the car’s integrated Android Auto or Apple CarPlay systems that are offered as standard in every Kia plug-in car.

Sign-up to KiaCharge, order your RFID card, and manage your account via the app or online at www.kiacharge.com. The website provides information about the service including tariffs and charging network maps.

KiaCharge is available to all customers of past and present Kia BEV and PHEV models.
